Custom guitar teacher apps Pick the features. Ship the app.

Tell us how you teach. We assemble the guitar-tutor app around that — your domain, your colours, only the features that actually fit your studio. Skip the bits you'll never use.

"Built around my four-day teaching week, with the exact features I asked for. No upsells, no bloat."

— Sam C. · Glasgow

How it works

From a brief to your
own app, in three steps.

01

Tell us what your studio needs

Walk us through how you teach — the modules that matter, the ones you don't need yet, the studio-specific quirks. No sales call required.

02

We assemble the modules

We turn on the features in the shared codebase, set up your branding, configure your domain, and migrate any existing student data.

03

Your app ships, on your domain

A working app at yourstudio.com. Your students download it from the App Store under your name. New modules slot in later when you need them.

The modules

An app cut to your
shape.

Every block below is a feature your custom build can include or leave out. Mix and match. Start with three, add three more next year. The codebase grows; your subscription doesn't.

Students

Need a single place for every student?

A roster that holds each student's history, the fingerings they keep mangling, the song they're working on, the gear they play. Notes that survive between lessons so the next one picks up exactly where the last left off.

  • Profiles with photo, level, contact, gear notes
  • Lesson-by-lesson history, searchable
  • Private notes only you see
  • Tagging for groups, schools, family bundles

Scheduling

Need student scheduling that doesn't eat your evenings?

A calendar that handles recurring slots, half-term breaks, the parent who wants to bring the kid an hour early, and the student who keeps trying to rebook a cancelled lesson. Syncs with the calendar you already use.

  • Recurring lessons with smart conflict checks
  • Holiday blocking and term-time presets
  • Student self-booking — on when you want it
  • Two-way sync with Google / Outlook

Exercises

Need exercises that aren't just photocopies?

Build an exercise once — tab, audio, video, an objective like "60 bpm clean" — then assign it to whoever needs it. Students log against the objective from their phone. Done means done, not "I think I did it once last week".

  • Tab, audio, video, sheet-music embeds
  • Measurable objectives (tempo, reps, streak)
  • Assign individually, by class, or by course
  • Versioned — edit once, every assignment updates

Courses

Need to package your teaching into something repeatable?

Stitch exercises into modules, modules into courses. A whole twelve-week beginner curriculum, or an eight-lesson bottleneck-busting blues series. Release in one go or drip a lesson a week.

  • Drag-and-drop module ordering
  • Drip schedule per student or cohort
  • Auto-unlock when prerequisites pass
  • Sell as one-off purchases or subscriptions

Progress

Need to see who's actually practising?

Visual dashboards showing each student's streak, completion rate, and where they're stuck. Not for surveillance — for the moment in a lesson where you say "you smashed the F barre this week, let's move on".

  • Practice streaks and weekly minutes
  • Per-exercise completion graphs
  • "Stuck for two weeks" early warnings
  • One-tap encouragement back to the student

Mobile App

Need a mobile app — under your name, not ours?

Native iOS and Android. Your logo on the splash screen, your colours throughout, push notifications signed by you. Students download "Your Studio" from the App Store, not "myguitartutor".

  • Native iOS + Android (not a webview)
  • Your icon, splash, colours, app name
  • Push for assignments and lesson reminders
  • Audio + video capture for practice submissions

Need to get paid without chasing invoices?

Stripe billing for one-off lessons, lesson packages, monthly subscriptions, and course purchases. Card captured once at sign-up — the rest is automatic. Late payments chase themselves.

  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay (Stripe)
  • Recurring billing for monthly studio members
  • Course store with discount codes
  • Automatic invoicing and VAT (UK + EU)

Need to run lessons online without the Zoom faff?

One-click joins from inside the app — for you and the student. Sessions auto-record. Native Zoom transcripts feed into AI lesson notes so you have a summary written before you've put the guitar down.

  • Built-in Zoom integration (per-teacher OAuth)
  • Auto-recordings filed against the student
  • AI lesson summary from the transcript
  • Optional PII consent gate for under-18s

Need to give feedback when they're not in the room?

Students record short audio or video clips from their phone, attached to the exercise they were working on. You drop comments at exact timestamps. Faster than a follow-up Zoom; warmer than a text.

  • In-app audio + video capture
  • Timestamped feedback comments
  • "Approved" stamps tied to objectives
  • Optional automatic transcription

Need a website that brings new students in?

A built-in blog and SEO-friendly pages on your own domain. Built for tutors who'd rather teach than wrestle WordPress — flexible enough that you actually own your audience instead of renting it from Instagram.

  • Blog with categories, tags and RSS
  • Custom domain with HTTPS managed for you
  • SEO meta, structured data, sitemaps
  • Newsletter signup synced to billing

Need a transcription you can actually teach from?

Drop in a riff recording — get a Guitar Pro file back. Show your students a phrase you played five years ago without re-learning it yourself. Editable transcripts you fix in the editor instead of re-typing.

  • Audio → Guitar Pro tab generation
  • Editable in the in-app GP editor
  • Optional AI lesson notes from Zoom transcripts
  • Suggested exercises from a student's recorded practice

Branding

Need it to actually look like your studio?

Your domain. Your logo. Your colours. The student app, the website, the emails — all of it carries your brand. The platform never advertises itself to your students; that's the whole point.

  • Custom domain with managed HTTPS
  • Logo, favicon, social cards
  • Theme colours through the student app
  • Branded transactional emails

FAQ

Common
questions.

What tutors and learners ask us about how the custom-build process works, pricing, and ownership.

Do I have to use all the modules?

No — that's the whole point. You pick the ones that fit how you teach. A tutor who runs in-person lessons only might want Students, Scheduling and Payments, and skip the rest. A tutor going online-first might prioritise Courses, Live Lessons and Branded Mobile App. Add more later when your studio grows into them.

How is this different from a stock SaaS like a teaching marketplace?

On a marketplace, students see the marketplace's brand and the marketplace owns the relationship. Here, the app carries your brand on your domain — students see "Your Studio", not "myguitartutor". You own the customer relationship, the data, and the recurring revenue.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on which modules you turn on and the size of your studio. There's a one-off setup fee for the initial build (covers branding, deployment, your domain, and migration of any existing student data), then a monthly platform fee that scales with active students. Get a quote by sending a brief — no commitment, no sales call.

Who owns the data?

You do — fully and unambiguously. Student records, lesson history, recordings, payment data, the lot. If you ever decide to leave, you get a full export in standard formats. We don't hold data hostage or charge for portability.

How long does the initial build take?

Typical timeline is 3–6 weeks from signed brief to your app being live on your own domain. Single-module starter studios can be closer to 2 weeks; full multi-module builds with custom branding and student migration land nearer 6.

Can I add new features after launch?

Yes — that's the architecture's job. New modules slot in without rebuilding the app, and existing ones get updated as we improve them. You're running on a shared codebase, so improvements made for one studio benefit every studio.

Is the underlying tech open about how it works?

Pretty open. We document the multi-tenant architecture, the data model, and the deployment pattern in public. The free workshop tools and resources library are the same codebase's outputs running on our own domain. No black box.
